• Remove the cover: Take the cover off of the pillow insert and shake it out to remove any loose dirt or debris.
• Pre-treat stains: Spot-treat any stains with a stain remover or a small amount of liquid detergent.
• Use the gentle cycle: Wash the cover on the delicate or gentle cycle using cool or warm water. The Laundress recommends using warm or cool water because polyester is sensitive to heat.
• Use mild detergent: Only use a small amount of mild, low-sudsing detergent. Too much detergent can leave a residue that is hard to rinse out.
• Protect the fabric: To prevent color from bleeding or friction from damaging the fabric, wash similar colors together and turn the cover inside out. You can also use a mesh laundry bag to protect delicate embellishments.
• Dry on low heat: Tumble dry the cover on low heat to avoid shrinking, or air-dry it by laying it flat on a towel. 
• Cleaning a polyester pillow insert
  If the pillow insert is made of polyester fiberfill, it can be machine-washed and dried. 
  • Check for damage: Mend any rips or tears before washing to prevent the stuffing from coming out.
  • Balance the load: Wash two inserts at a time to keep the machine balanced, especially in a top-loading washer with a central agitator. You can add towels to the load if you only have one insert to wash.
  • Run an extra rinse cycle: Run the pillows through an extra rinse cycle to ensure all soap is removed.
  • Tumble dry with dryer balls: Dry the inserts on medium heat with a few wool dryer balls or tennis balls to prevent clumping and restore fluffiness.
  • Air-dry and fluff: To prevent mold, air-dry the inserts completely after tumble drying. Fluff the pillows by hand to redistribute the filling.
