This is a Kleinhans Armless Chair, designed by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen in 1939. The two designers were working together at the Cranbrook Academy of Art at the time, and this silhouette was an early collaboration. The piece was designed for the Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo, NY. The frame of the chair is made of beech, and the molded plywood seat represents one of the earliest works featuring the material in the United States.

This chair measures 23 inches deep, 19 inches wide, and 30 inches high. The chair has a seat height of 15 inches. We have intentionally left this chair in its as-found condition to showcase its history. There is some discoloration on the fabric, and there is a small tear. The cushion padding has hardened underneath the fabric, and there are some blemishes on the feet. Overall, this chair is in good vintage condition. Please see photos.
